Now Put Yourself Forward as a Candidate for the Oscar in the Metal Packaging Sector
Honouring Solutions for Raising Quality and Reducing Costs
At the global METPACK fair, international companies will provide evidence of how innovative the metal packaging sector is. At Messe Essen from May 2 to 6, 2017, they will present to the trade public from all over the world their new solutions for the manufacture, refinement, painting and recycling of metal packaging. Now, the exhibitors can already put themselves forward as candidates for the Oscar in the sector, the METPACK Innovation Award. It will offer the winners an outstanding mark of distinction with worldwide renown which can be utilised as a valuable instrument and seal of quality in customer communication.
The METPACK Innovation Award distinguishes products which, to a particular extent, contribute to raising quality and reducing costs during the production of metal packaging. Messe Essen will award the prize for the eighth time already. A jury consisting of international experts will check the submissions and will gain personal impressions of the products during the period of the fair. The winners will be distinguished in Gold, Silver and Bronze on the second day of the fair.
Gernot Geldner, Chairman of the Expert Jury: “The METPACK Innovation Award is impressive evidence of the innovative force in the sector. Time and time again, we are enthusiastic about what new developments and improvements the metal packaging industry shows at METPACK every three years and the entire sector will profit from these.” Exhibitors can pass on their submissions from now on. The closing date for entries will be March 31, 2017. Further information is available at www.metpack.de.
In 2014, the Spanish company Matriruiz S.L. convinced the expert world and won the METPACK Innovation Award for the Spider Head Liner, a delta robot for the production of can ends. The technology permits quick and easy adjustment to different end shapes; conversion times and production costs are reduced in this way. At METPACK 2011, the Award in Gold went to the US manufacturer Sensory Analytics for its SpecMetrix measurement system for the coating thickness and the film weight. Amongst other reasons, the innovation was selected because of the innovative, versatile and contactless application and the great savings potential for coating material in nearly every coating application which is used in the manufacture of metal packaging.
